Why We Are Going to Hell – Part 4,025
America’s New Holiday
by
Public school students throughout California will be celebrating May 22 as a new holiday.
On this day, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes, was born. As was Sir Laurence Oliver, arguably the world’s greatest artist.
Richard Wagner, the great composer, was born on May 22 but his music will not be played for the students in commemoration of his works.
Nor will Tommy Franks, the Yankee pitcher, be honored on this day, let alone St. Rita of Cascia, the patron of desperate causes.
May 22 by an act of legislation signed into law yesterday by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is Harvey Milk Day.
Harvey Milk, born on May 22, was the first openly practicing homosexual to be elected to public office. As a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, he was responsible for the passage of stringent laws to protect the rights of the gay community.
On November 27, 1978, Mr. Milk and San Francisco Mayor George Moscone were gunned down and killed by Dan White, another city supervisor who had resigned and wanted his job back.
Mr. Milk is now hailed as “the martyr for gay rights.”
Not everyone is pleased with the new feast day.
Randy Thomasson of SaveCalifornia.com, a forum for traditional values, says that the governor’s signature on the new bill will transform schools throughout The Golden State into havens for homosexual indoctrination.
“Now children are going to be taught to admire the homosexual activist, his entire homosexual/bisexual agenda — even a cross-dressing agenda,” Mr. Thomasson insists.
Previously, Governor Schwarzenegger had vetoed a bill authorizing Harvey Milk Day bill, but Mr. Thomasson says the governor’s recent record of legislative action serves to explain why he signed it this time.
“He [Schwarzenegger] signed a bill recognizing out-of-state homosexual ‘marriages’ — a clear violation of Proposition 8,” the family advocate explains, referring to the voter-approved constitutional amendment protecting traditional marriage. “[So] it’s no surprise [that] if he flip-flops on marriage, that he flip-flops on saying one year the Harvey Milk Gay Day should be vetoed and the next year signing it into law.”
According to Thomasson, calls to the governor were 4-to-1 against signing the bill — and he now encourages people to call again and voice their disapproval.
The killer of Harvey Milk committed sin by doing so and there is no mistaking that. The reality though is that Harvey Milk was himself a man of sin based on Genesis 19, Leviticus 20:13 and also Romans chapter 1 – Romans 6:23 declares – The wages of sin is death…..unfortunately there is always a payday for sin – for anyone – that commits it and advocates the practice of it – such as Harvey Milk did. Milk was not a hero, but rather a sinner that needed to be delivered but who was killed. There is nothing heroic in this resume of sin that warrants the foolishness that Schwarzenegger has supported. On the contrary the destruction and judgement of The Lord will be all over California for this woeful, sorry and silly attempt to call someone who was evil….good (Isaiah 5:20)
