A Canadian Roman Catholic bishop has been charged with the distribution and selling of child pornography after a random search of his laptop at the Ottawa airport, a police source confirmed to the press.
His Eminence Raymond Lahey, 69, was returning to Canada from the United States when Canadian Border Services Agency officials found images on his computer.
Bishop Lahey resigned from governing the diocese of Antigonish, Nova Scotia last weekend. In his letter to his flock, the Bishop said that he needed time for “personal renewal.”
In August, Bishop Lahey offered the victims and their families apologies on behalf of the Church and said he “hoped to never again have to deal with such reprehensible behavior.”
The Canadian bishop is best known for having brokered a landmark 13-million Canadian dollar (12 million US) settlement with people who claimed to have been sexually abused by priests in the diocese dating back to 1950.
The answer to this recurring dilemma is simple. Not only do we allow the clergy to marry, we insist. What has been going on in the Catholic Church is an abomination. Celibacy is fraudulent and it has become a magnet for perverts who prey on our children. How dare these pious freaks engage in tyranny over the faithful. Are we stupid or what. The human sex drive, in males especially, is one of the strongest forces on earth. Let’s give the clergy a normal, healthy outlet for their sexual urges by insisting that they be allowed to marry a member of the opposite sex (of course)and procreate like the rest of us. How can they pretend to preach to the rest of us about love when they have never experienced it in its purest form. They would deny us the ability to use birth control while they themselves are immune.I am sorry but anyone who has studied the Gospel of Jesus would see this for the fraud that it is, unless of course, you have been taught in a language you don’t understand – the Latin Mass. There are definitely a few similarities between the piety of Catholicism and tyrannical Islam.
