Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet this evening with President Obama this evening to discuss the immediate formation of a Palestinian State, with [East] Jerusalem as its capital.
The meeting comes on the heels of reports that President Obama has pledged his support to Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad for a unilateral Palestinian declaration of independence and the confinement of Israel to its 1967 borders.
At the meeting, Mr. Obama is expected to employ a carrot and stick technique to exact Mr. Netanyahu’s acceptance of plans for the new “Palestine.”
The carrot:
The United States, according to reports, will “allow” the sovereign State of Israel defend itself against Iran without the fear of counterattack by US forces in the Persian Gulf and the Mediterranean.
The stick:
In accordance with the established polices set by former Secretaries of State Colin Powell and Condileezza Rice, “All options are on the table”, including [US] military intervention to impose a “peace settlement” as decreed by the United States and the UN General Assembly.
In a related development, The Palestinian Authority Prime Minister is seeking the formation of a UN Security Council resolution to replace Resolutions 242 and 338. The new resolution calls for Israel to relinquish the West Bank in preparation for the emergence of the new state.
Several Israeli officials said that Prime Minister Fayyad had spoken to them of the positive responses he had received for the plan from Western European nations, including the United Kingdom, France, Spain and Sweden.
The Last Crusade urges all Christians to Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. Those nations gathered against Israel are to be cursed by the one true G-d, and destroyed by his wrath.
