More American women are choosing not to have children, according to a new report from the Pew Research Center.
Nearly 20 percent of older women do not have children, compared to 10 percent in the 1970s, the Pew Research Center said.
“In recent decades, social pressure to play traditional roles has lessened in a broad variety of ways and there is more leeway for individual choice. This could play a part in lowering pressure for people to get married and bear children,” D’Vera Cohn, a co-author of the report, said.
Cohn maintained that another reason for the increase is that children are seen by some as less important for a successful marriage. A 2007 Pew survey found that 41 percent of adults said that children are very important for a good marriage, down from 65 percent in 1990.
Twenty per cent of white women ages 40-44 remained childless in 2008, compared with 17 percent of black and Hispanic women and 16 percent of Asian women. Between 1994 and 2008, the childlessness rates for black and Hispanic women rose by almost a third, much higher than the 11 percent increase for white women.
Education also seems to be a factor in a woman’s choice to be a mother. The more educated women are, the higher the childless rate is.
For women with a high school diploma, the rate is 17 percent, compared to 24 percent of women with a bachelor’s degree. But the childlessness rate has decreased for women with advanced degrees from 31 percent in 1994 to 24 percent in 2008.
“Economists will tell you that more educated women have more to gain economically from prioritizing their careers, compared with less educated women,” said Cohn.
“The most educated women also tend to marry at older ages and to postpone childbearing until older ages more than less educated women do,” Cohn said.
The study failed to take into account the fact that Americans Islamic population – - due to immigrant and the high birth rates of Muslim women – - is increasing at a rate of 6% per year.
This demographic, verified by Allied Media Corp and the World Almanac, shows that America’s Islamic population will double by 2014 and triple by 2020.
While the replacement rate for white Americans has slipped to 1.7, the rate for Muslim women in the U.S. hovers at 3.0.

This is the word the Rabbinical Alliance of America has used to label Elena Kagan, President Barack Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court.
Ms. Kagan is expected to replace Justice John Paul Stevens, 90, the foremost liberal on the bench.
Treif refers to anything that is vile and non-kosher in the Jewish faith, such as pigs, fecal matter, and various forms of filth.
Rabbi Yehuda Levin, speaking on behalf of the 850 Orthodox rabbis who issued the condemnation, statement explained his group’s position by saying:
“Ms. Kagan is treif – not fit to serve on the Supreme Court or any other court. It is clear from Ms. Kagan’s record on issues – - such as abortion-on-demand, Partial-Birth-Abortion, the radical homosexual and lesbian agenda, the ‘supremacy’ of the anti-family panoply over religious liberties of Biblical adherents, et. al. – - that she will function as a flame-throwing radical, hastening society’s already steep decline into Sodom and Gomorrah.”
Rabbi Levin told CNSNews that his fellow rabbis and hundreds of thousands of Orthodox Jews–are confused at the Obama’s choice of Ms. Kagan.
“What exactly was Obama thinking, President Obama thinking, when he nominated Kagan? Because eventually, down the road, someone–or some group–is going to ‘take the hit’ for the crazy decisions that Kagan is bound to make. So we would have much preferred if President Obama had given this ‘distinction’ to another minority group, instead of singling out the Jews.”
He added: “We feel that Elena Kagan turns traditional Judaism on its head–from a concept of a nation of priests and holy people, she is turning it into, ‘Let’s homosexualize every segment of society. And by the way, partial-birth babies have no right to be delivered.’”
Ms. Kagan served in the past year as Mr. Obama’s solicitor general. In this capacity, she advocated for the U.S. government in cases before the court she now wants to join.
If appointed, she would be the first new member of the Supreme Court in almost 40 years who has never been a judge.
A poised Elena Kagan spent the second day of her Supreme Court confirmation hearing fending off Republican efforts to paint her as a liberal activist. She insisted that she’d be a fair, open-minded justice and refused to call herself a “legal progressive.”
“I honestly don’t know what that label means,” she said.
However, when Ms. Kagan was asked later where she stood politically, she said she’d been a Democrat all her life and that ”my political views are generally progressive.”
While CNN celebrates “gay pride” with its pro-homosexual special program “Gary and Tony Have a Baby,” hosted by Soledad O’Brien, high-profile conservatives, two Fox News personalities, Tucker Carlson and Margaret Hoover, have joined in the national effort to promote the cause of “alternative lifestyles.”
Mr. Carlson, who edits The Daily Caller – - a conservative newsletter, is the scheduled keynote dinner speaker at a September meeting of the Log Cabin Republicans, a group of militant homosexuals who have filed suit against the Pentagon’s policy of excluding open and active homosexuals from military service.
He is also a fellow of the Cato Institute, which supports gay rights and same-sex marriages.
Ms. Hoover serves on the advisory council of GOProud, a so-called “gay conservative” group whose chairman, Christopher R. Barron, has a history of working for “centrist Republicans.”
She has appeared on “The O’Reilly Factor” FNC program to promote President Obama’s proposed repeal of the Pentagon’s homosexual exclusion policy and has written an article for the FOXNews.com website expressing her belief that there is a right to gay marriage in the U.S. Constitution.
Ms. Hoover sits on the board of the American Foundation for Equal Rights, an organization supported by Hollywood liberals committed to gay marriage and the “gay rights struggle.”
Tammy Bruce, another Fox News Channel political contributor, serves the openly gay chair of the GOProud advisory council and promotes the Independent Gay Forum, a network of so-called gay conservatives and libertarians.
GOProud is the same group whose inclusion in the Conservative Political Action Conference by David Keene of the American Conservative Union outraged many conservatives who hold a philosophy of limited government and support for traditional values.
Other leading Republican conservatives support GOProud, including Grover Norquist, who served as the Chairman of the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Norquist, the head of Americans for Tax Reform, has been a leading proponent of Muslim organizations in the United States, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).
The gay rights movement was founded in the U.S. by Communist Harry Hay and has been traditionally associated with liberal and left-wing organizations, as well as the national Democratic Party. Hay, a self-described “Radical Fairy,” promoted pedophilia and participated in meetings of the North American Man-Boy Love Association.
American Conservatives have presented themselves as upholders of the Judeo-Christian tradition which opposed homosexuality as a perversion of natural law.
The National Ummah – - a Muslim movement that seeks to transform American cities into sovereign Islamic states – - has gained a foothold in metropolitan areas throughout the country.
Few groups are more radical, subversive, and dangerous.
The movement is led by Jamil al-Amin, (H. Rap Brown) from his cell in a maximum security prison on the outskirts of Florence, Colorado, where he is serving a life sentence for killing two police officers.
Some of the Ummah mosques maintain armed militias. Others provide training in marital arts and guerilla warfare. Almost all operate beneath the radar of local, state, and federal law enforcement officials.
Last October, after conducting a raid on Ummah congregations in Detroit and Dearborn, Michigan, federal investigators said that the movement was small and regional with only a few hundred active members.
But thousands of African American Muslims pledge their allegiance to the Ummah (Arabic for “community”) and a short list of mosques affiliated with the movement is as follows:

The movement is an outgrowth of Dar ul-Islam, an Islamic street gang in Brooklyn. Many members of the gang ended up in Green Haven, a maximum security prison in upper New York where they established Masjid Santore, a mosque within the prison.
The prison mosque receives full funding from New York state legislators.
Another offshoot of Dar ul-Islam is Jamaat ul-Fuqra, an Islamic group that operates Islamberg and approximately forty additional Islamic paramilitary compounds throughout the country.
On October 28, 2009, the FBI raided a warehouse in Detroit and two houses in Detroit and arrested eleven Ummah members on charges of mail fraud, the illegal possession of firearms, trafficking in stolen goods, and altering vehicle identification numbers.
In the course of the raid on the warehouse, Luqman Ameen Abdullah, the ringleader of the group, opened fire on the federal agents and was killed in the ensuing gunfight.
Luqman Abdullah was the imam of the Masjid al-Haqq in Detroit, a mosque that was part of the Ummah network.
He sought to claim a section of blight ravaged Detroit for his group in order to establish a sovereign Muslim enclave governed by sharia (Islamic law).
In his sermons, Imam Abdullah called upon his followers to launch an “offensive jihad” against U.S. officials and to carry and use firearms.
Imam Abdullah was one of the founders of the Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA). Another founder was Siraj Wahhaj, an un-indicted co-conspirator in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center and imam of Masjid al-Taqwa in Brooklyn.
MANA was formed to defend Jamil al-Amin and to advance the Islamic take-over of the United States by “cultural jihad” – - pushing for black/Muslim privileges under the guise of equal opportunity and civil rights.

One way to tell how effective the Tea Party movement has been is to gauge the severity of the attacks on the movement by its detractors. It is fair and logical to deduce that the more severe the attacks, the more threatened the attackers feel. Judging from the most recent attacks on the Tea Party movement – and because the Progressives and Liberal Democrats are completely invested in “feelings” instead of facts – those opposed to limited government and the constitutional rule of law are feeling quite threatened.
Anyone paying attention to the mainstream news media has noticed a recent uptick in the number of news stories about the Tea Party movement. While media outlets such as FOX News, The Washington Times, BigGovernment.com, NewsMax.com and talk radio portray the Tea Party movement in a favorable light, the “alphabet media,” its cable brethren and the Progressive blogs are painting the movement as having emanated from the fringe; a group consisting of a bevy of Timothy McVeigh’s on steroids. Truth be told, this isn’t because they are grossly ideological in their reporting – although that lends to the zealousness of their actions – as much as it is a coordinated tactic to neuter the power of the Tea Party movement. The Progressive’s attacks on the Tea Party movement are straight from Rules for Radicals; they are a textbook Saul Alinsky play…and they are only going to get more vicious as the 2010 and 2012 elections approach.
