She might be nubile and nude beneath the niqab or a withered old hag.

Few will know when Islamic women gather today in Winnipeg to demand the right to wear their form and face concealing niqab.

The event takes place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Carol Shields Auditorium at the Millennium Library.

It will feature the latest in Islamic fashion, including the burquini which is sure to capture more attention on the beach than the scantiest bikini.

“It’s a woman’s choice to wear a miniskirt or niqab,” says event organizer Shahina Siddiqui, president of the Islamic Social Services Association.

A niqab is a full-body garment that covers the hair and face, except for the eyes.

For Canada to be truly inclusive, people need to have a better understanding of each other, Ms. Siddiqui maintains, even if they cannot see the person with whom they are trying to communicate.

The organizers of the event are fearful that Canada and other Western countries might follow France in banning the wearing of hijabs and religious head scarves in public schools.

“People said, ‘There’s no way it’s going to happen here,’ ” Ms. Siddiqui says.

But in the last two months in this country, two women in Quebec have been ejected from class for not removing their religious head coverings. That’s too close for comfort for the Islamic Social Services Association

“Where does it end?” Ms. Siddiqui asks.

She wants Islamic women throughout Canada to voice their protest against “religious intolerance,” such as the demand that they remove their facial covering for the purpose of security.

Thousands of Muslim women are expected to join here although few will be possible to recognize.

Manitoba’s Muslim population is growing as the province increases its annual immigration targets.

In 1991, there were 2,805 Muslims in Manitoba. In 2001, there were 5,100.

Today, there are more than 7,000.

By 2015, the Muslim population is again expected to triple.

One way to tell how effective the Tea Party movement has been is to gauge the severity of the attacks on the movement by its detractors. It is fair and logical to deduce that the more severe the attacks, the more threatened the attackers feel. Judging from the most recent attacks on the Tea Party movement – and because the Progressives and Liberal Democrats are completely invested in “feelings” instead of facts – those opposed to limited government and the constitutional rule of law are feeling quite threatened.

Anyone paying attention to the mainstream news media has noticed a recent uptick in the number of news stories about the Tea Party movement. While media outlets such as FOX News, The Washington Times, BigGovernment.com, NewsMax.com and talk radio portray the Tea Party movement in a favorable light, the “alphabet media,” its cable brethren and the Progressive blogs are painting the movement as having emanated from the fringe; a group consisting of a bevy of Timothy McVeigh’s on steroids. Truth be told, this isn’t because they are grossly ideological in their reporting – although that lends to the zealousness of their actions – as much as it is a coordinated tactic to neuter the power of the Tea Party movement. The Progressive’s attacks on the Tea Party movement are straight from Rules for Radicals; they are a textbook Saul Alinsky play…and they are only going to get more vicious as the 2010 and 2012 elections approach.

Hank Johnson, Georgia’s Congressman, stated during a committee meeting that the addition of more U.S. troops to the tiny island of Guam might cause the island to tip over and capsize. When the news first ran the story, many thought it might be an April Fools Day prank, but watching the video, all concerned were all business and Johnson was very seriously laying his case for the island.

The fact that anyone thinks that islands are floating masses, shows the gaps in our education because it is almost as basic as the fact that the earth is round and not flat.

SEX OKAY WITH INFANTS AND YOUNG CHILDREN

One of the world’s largest Islamic organizations has issued a religious ruling stating that Muslims should feel free to marry prepubescent girls as young as six or seven.

Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) further ruled that Muslim men may have intimate relationships, including intercourse, with such young children “as long as they are able.”

The organization boasts a membership of 30 million throughout Indonesia, including Java, where President Barack Obama lived with his mother and stepfather, Lolo Soetoro.

Mr. Soetoro, who served as an army geologist and government relations consultant in Jakarta, reportedly remained a member of NU until his death in 1981.

Cholil Nafis, NU’s secretary of the committee for religious issues, made the announcement sanctioning pedophilia at the conclusion of the organization’s 32nd Congress.

Sacred Islamic verses, Mr. Nafis said, do not stipulate a minimum age for a young girl to marry or a certain age for connubial sexual activity..

“They can get married at any age, even girls who haven’t started menstruating,” he announced. “And they can have intimate relationships and intercourse, as long as they are able.”

Cholil said Islamic law only suggested that marriages would be better after a woman had her first period.

“As long as the objectives of the marriage are positive, it is allowed,” Mr. Cholil continued. “Mind you, we don’t encourage people just to get married to fulfill their desires, no.”

The edict drew immediate criticism from Komnas Perempuan (KP), the National Commission on Violence Against Women in Jakarta.

KP Vice Chairwoman Masruchah said the edict violates the Law on Child Protection, which defines children as being younger than 18 years old.

Girls can begin to have their periods as early as the age of 9, but their reproductive system is still fragile and they are “not ready to be a sexually active person,” Ms. Masruchah maintained.

Florida Republican congressional hopeful Corey Poitier used the name “Buckwheat” during a speech on healthcare reform in an apparent reference to President Barack Obama

In his speech to Broward County Republicans Monday, Poitier, 36, who is the only Republican candidate running to fill the congressional seat being vacated by U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek, a Democrat, said, “Listen up, Buckwheat — this is not how it is done,” the Miami Herald reported.

“Buckwheat” is a character from the 1920s Our Gang and The Little Rascals, the Herald reported. The character is considered by many African-Americans to be disparaging.

“The press has run amok with this and turned me into a racist. I’ve never seen Buckwheat as a disparaging character. People love Buckwheat,” said Poitier, who is black.

In a related development, the findings of a Harris poll show that 25% of registered Republicans believe that Mr. Obama is the Anti-Christ.

Other findings in the online poll of 2,230 people conducted from March 1 through 8 are as follows:

Two thirds of Republicans — 67 percent — and 40 percent of Americans overall, believe that Obama is a socialist.

A majority of Republicans — 57 percent — and 32 percent overall believe that Obama is a Muslim.

45 percent of Republicans, and 25 percent overall, believe that Obama was “not born in the United States and so is not eligible to be president.”

38 percent of Republicans, and 20 percent overall, say that Obama is “doing many of the things that Hitler did.”

“The very large numbers of people who believe all these things of President Obama help to explain the size and strength of the Tea Party Movement,” Harris Interactive says in a release.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi is about to wave her magic wand and socialize a major portion of the U.S. economy in violation of the Constitution.

House Republican Chairman Greg Walden says that Americans are now witnessing the “slaughtering of democracy.”

“Slaughtering” is a reference to Louise Slaughter (D-NY) who has come up with a scheme to package the Senate version of ObamaCare and the House Reconciliation Bill into one measure that can be enacted into law without a single “yea’ or “nay” from an elected official.

The waving of the wand is set to occur on Sunday night.

The Traditional Values Coalition warns that Mrs. Pelosi’s magical act will oblige all Americans to purchase Obama government-run health care and will produce the following consequences:

· This government takeover of health care will affect 100% of Americans – born and unborn – for generations to come. Mrs. Pelosi revealed that a package of amendments to the Senate-passed health care bill would include a new tax on unearned income. Pelosi said this tax would cover all unearned income, “whatever category that is.”

· Obama and Pelosi have intentionally deceived the American people about taxpayer-funding of abortion. It is a fact that this bill authorizes an unprecedented, profound and alarming increase of tax money for other people’s abortions – the largest increase of government-funded abortion since Roe v. Wade. Is this what you want?

· The Constitution will be deemed null and void since a precedent will be set for legislation to be approved without a single vote from a Congressman or Senator under the so-called “Slaughter Rule.” Article I, Sec. 7 of the Constitution requires that for a bill to become law it must be voted on by both chambers of Congress and then sent to the President who signs into law or vetoes it. The section states:

“Every bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a law, be presented to the President of the United States; if he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the objections at large on their journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the bill, it shall be sent, together with the objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a law. But in all such cases the votes of both Houses shall be determined by yeas and nays, and the names of the persons voting for and against the bill shall be entered on the journal of each House respectively. If any bill shall not be returned by the President within ten days (Sundays excepted) after it shall have been presented to him, the same shall be a law, in like manner as if he had signed it, unless the Congress by their adjournment prevent its return, in which case it shall not be a law.”

Haryo Soetendro, Barack Obama’s Muslim cousin, urges the US President to withdraw all troops from Islamic lands.

Mr. Soetendro grew up with Mr. Obama – whom he knew as “Barry” – when the future American president lived in Indonesia for four years in the late 1960s.

“You cannot force other countries to accept your idea of what is right just because you are stronger. I think the mothers in America would agree with this when they see their soldier sons being killed in Afghanistan,” Mr. Soetendro said in an exclusive interview with a reporter from The Daily Telegraph.

Mr. Soetendro further urged his cousin to return to his Islamic roots and the lessons he learned in the madrassahs.

“Indonesian Muslims are generally tolerant,” Mr. Soetendro explained. “But there is a common opinion that one country should not occupy another. No one would want their house occupied by someone else.”

The President cousin further said that it is high time for Mr. Obama to fulfill his promise to build bridges with the Muslim world.

“I think he is being held back by having to please conservatives in the United States,” Mr. Soetendro said.

Mr. Obama is due to fly to Indonesia next week for a democracy conference. During a six-day trip, he is expected to viist his childhood home in Jakarta and to spend some time with his Muslim relatives.

But many Muslims in Indonesia are not rolling out the red carpet. Thousands of Indonesians protested against Mr Obama’s visit across five cities on Sunday. Radical Islamic group, Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia, which has one million members, is planning a huge demonstration in Jakarta on Friday.

“Obama is a war president of a country that murders Muslim women and children. He is using Indonesia as his beast of burden to build a positive image of America to the Muslim world,” the group’s spokesperson, Ismail Yusanto told The Daily Telegraph.

A spate of recent arrests and killings of wanted terrorists – notably the killing of Dulmatin, the Bali bomber, last week and the discovery of a training camp in Aceh last month – has revealed a re-emergence of Islamic extremism in a country made up of 17,500 islands and 230 million people.

“The international linkages with Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Afghanistan are stronger than we thought and the discovery of the Aceh training centre showed that the group was attempting to make a secure base for their activities in the region,” explained Jim Della-Giacoma, South East Asia Project Director of Crisis Group International.

Mr. Soetendro told the press he took the six-year-old “Barry” under his wing, when Mr. Obama’s mother Ann Dunham and his Indonesian stepfather Lolo Soetoro moved to Jakarta in 1967.

In Indonesia, Mr. Obama was registered as a Muslim in 1969 at Fransiskus Stradi Asisa, a Catholic elementary school, and in 1970 at the Jakarta Public School.

His Indonesian relatives, including his half-sister Maya Soetoro-Ng, say that the young Obama went to the local mosque and often wore a sarong and traditional Islamic garb.
